Hi Chris and Susan here...
What a weekend it was seeing two great examples of the nature of TRIUMPH and DEFEAT
Sir Richard Branson soared to the edge of space, aged 70, in a rocket ship that began in his mind as a child
His glorious achievement lasted just 90 seconds. Along the way, there was a tragedy when a test flight crashed in the desert killing the pilot. The public has responded to his achievement with admiration and vilification. In the attainment of his goal, he is both a hero and a villain in the eyes of millions of people around the world
A 23-year-old with the hopes and dreams of his country riding on his shoulders takes a penalty kick in the highest-profile game for over 50 years
He fakes out the goalie but his kick is off by a few centimetres, it strikes the post and the disappointment of an entire nation crashes down on him like a cement tsunami. Only months earlier he was gracefully leading a campaign to get hundreds of thousands of children fed during a pandemic. In both of these moments, he is being hailed as a hero by some and a villain by others.
We didn't write this article...
It was written by one of our very first mentors and a well respected entrepreneur who has championed our journey over the years when we stepped out of our comfort zone to tread the trail of entrepreneurship
The question he poses is
"What is the point of striving for great things? Why embark on a challenge when it will likely take decades, take discipline, take suffering, and then ultimately the trophy will be taken away by someone new?"
Personally we think it's because it's what we do when were driven by a passion and purpose
It actually bought back memories for us we would prefer lay dormant...
How one minute you can be celebrated and the next find yourself as the villain of the piece
Is it worth daring?
As he says, triumph and defeat are inseparable twins. You cannot meet one without staring the other in the face. There’s no one who’s playing at the top level who isn’t dancing daily with them both.
We think so but what about you?
But we never give up if we're truly passionate about what we do and those we know we can truly help transform their lives with what it is we do
It's why we always push ourselves to learn more and do and be more
Look at exciting new ways to help our tribe
Look the world is not waiting for you to come round. It doesn't care about your feelings...
You either get on board or you get left behind
It's super easy to do - just fill in the box that says "How To Turn Your Passion Into Profit"
Once a week on a Friday we share a variety of articles we find that we believe will be of interest to you - all in one place
