That being said we recently received a newsletter from one of the programs we work with talking about what they describe as potentially being the Facebook of 2021

I Couldn't Believe How Much Free Traffic This Site Gave Us...
Â
Today I want to share a website we've been posting on that's been giving us an insane amount of engagement and reach...
Seriously, I haven't seen this kind of traffic from simple posts about our business since 2013.
Even Instagram doesn't get this kind of engagement
And the crazy part is, it's not from a new crazy app like Clubhouse or Tik Tok...
And you don't need to post long, 10 minute tutorial videos like YouTube
In fact, there's a good chance you already have an account to this site. ;)
I'm actually talking about good ole LinkedIn!
Here's the truth, those of you who feel more comfortable with Facebook-style posts but frustrated with the lack of organic reach to your fan pages should give Linkedin a serious second look when you want to reach your audience, grow your brand, and build your email list
Now, I LOVE Facebook (so do we) and I still believe itâs a powerful marketing tool, but weâre always testing and exploring new avenues that are working for us right now and sharing them with you. :)
And while you may have been ignoring this channel (like we have) for a good number of years, here are a few reasons it may be time to dust off that profile and give LinkedIn another go!
1) While Facebook is designed to be social, LinkedIn is built around your professional career - so posts about your business are welcomed, though they can be a bit tiring on Facebook
2) Many on Facebook only want to connect with those they know, while LinkedIn requests often come from those in the same industry
Requesting to connect with people you've never met is much more common on LinkedIn
3) After testing on a number of posts and checking in with other marketers, weâve found that engagement and organic reach on our posts are much higher on LinkedIn than Facebook
I believe this is simply because people are more comfortable with business related posts on LinkedIn and even are excited to see them
4) The newsfeed layout is almost identical to Facebook so if youâre not comfortable quite yet with Tik Tok or YouTube, LinkedInâs platform will feel very familiar
Alright - so now that Iâve given you my best reasons to post on LinkedIn to grow your email list, let me offer a few tips to make the most of your experience
Tip #1:Â Optimize your profile
Unlike the other platforms that restrict you to a few words or sentences, Linkedin allows you PARAGRAPHS to define your business, who you are, and why someone should trust you or join your email list
So feel free to use this space to really speak to your ideal customer here as well as giving some background about yourself
In other words, treat this section like a Facebook Ad or even a Landing Page
Tip #2:Â Focus on reaching people through your posts, NOT through direct messageÂ
Yes, itâs entirely possible to generate clients by messaging people directly but itâs become so overused that many will ignore your messages
Instead, focus on providing great value in their newsfeed instead of immediately direct messaging them
(If you would still like to message them and give the direct approach a try, make the conversation about them and what they do)
Tip #3:Â Create shareable content
Weâve found motivational videos and stories do VERY well
Try simply sharing a powerful story or video of someone and include your own application
You may find that people engage with the story, share your post, and give you and your business plenty of exposure
Tip #4:Â If you know your avatar, begin searching and connect with people in your industry
If youâre selling a particular program or programs you may look for people who identify themselves as Affiliate Marketers, Entrepreneurs, Business Owners, or even Digital Marketers
LinkedIn gives you the power to flood your network with people in the same industry as you, so feel free to think inside AND outside the box here

We donât know what the future of LinkedIn will be but weâve been VERY impressed by how much reach and engagement our posts are receiving versus what we see from our Facebook Fan Pages or even Instagram Accounts lately
Again, we love FB & IG but are always testing new strategies and looking for ways to get more eyeballs on our offers at the best price
