😎 Making A Fresh Start

“It’s Friday! Time to go make stories for Monday.”

Hi Chris and Susan here...

It's that time again and one of reflection so we thought we would share this story with you...

It was the early days of our online business and we were doing pretty well...

But there was a problem and it was getting us down to be perfectly honest

Our marketing was honest and we we had proven results...

We talked to most people who joined our program and they promised faithfully they would do the work to make it happen...

And we believed them

But the truth was a very different story

And we were frustrated and almost ready to give up

Until a good friend who was passing through London on an international flight onwards to Hong Kong sat us down and delivered some home truths

He actually mapped out what was happening on a napkin and gave us those wise words

Be married to the process and divorced from the result

Now some people may think reading this that we don’t care about other people’s success

It couldn’t be further from the truth

We do care

Almost to the point of it being an obsession

But it’s not healthy and it leads to frustration and misery

And we know we are not alone

Even today we were reading a thread of comments on a social media post discussing this very topic as it pertains to “high ticket affiliate marketing” (that's our thing as you know)...

But it actually relates to anything even your “freebie” lead magnet or a $7 front end product ‼️

The ONE thing you cannot control is whether someone will be successful following the program or even take any action

Now let’s be clear there are some crap ‘get rich quick’ programs punted around and we’re not talking about these

That’s a whole different discussion for another day maybe...

We’re talking about genuine high ticket business education programs because that’s what we can speak about with some authority

It is frustrating but sadly it’s also a fact of life and it’s why such a large percentage of people are quoted in earnings disclaimers on any program make little or no income

You know the ones

"This is not a get rich quick program nor do we believe in overnight success. We believe in hard work, integrity and developing your skills if you want to earn more financially..."

We have to have it on our own website because people do have good intentions...

𝗕𝗨𝗧

Just some people don’t or can’t do what thy say they will do to change their circumstances

Some people sign up for things (yes even high ticket) to "scratch an itch" dare we say it...

They will never do anything

They had good intentions at the time but maybe life got in the way

(That was us when we first got started and had paid over $3K for a program that sat on our office shelf for 12 months)

Or maybe it was some other aspect that appealed to them such as belonging to a community of people - they didn't actually want to make money (yes we've seen groups of thousands of people in a group who love the companionship and connection to a celebrity entrepreneur like Tony Robbins)

We saw it with a program we worked with a few years ago which had masterminds in exotic locations

They signed up for the exotic locations and the companionship of others

There’s nothing wrong with that...

It's their choice and they paid for the privilege

No cajoling or offering help or guidance can change it

If it happens to you don't get your knickers in a twist over it

You can’t change it!

Just because YOU are entrepreneurial accept most people are not

Wanting to make money or saying you want to transform your life doesn’t make you entrepreneurial

It’s a much bigger picture than that

We first wrote about this some years ago under the headline "Making A Fresh Start"

And we even talked about getting married again which we of course did

We definitely didn’t want to go down our previous paths did we!

If you are reading this and one of those people who have failed in the past and really want to make a fresh start

And you really and truly want to succeed (not just say it BUT really mean it)...

Please make sure you don’t fall back into what we call the “crazy 8” pattern (basically going round in circles doing what you did before because it’s easier) and adopt the things that have caused you to fail in the past like :-

Failure to invest into your business and marketing education
Failure to execute
Failure to change your mindset
Failure to take advice from those who have the RESULTS that they want
Failure to take responsibility for their ACTIONS or their lack of actions
Failure to stand up to the excuses that you made which held you back

Because quite honestly, the pandemic has shifted attitudes about remote working, staying connected, and shopping online you will have to agree...

And home-based businesses are now a reality for millions of frustrated professionals and it's not going to change anytime soon that we can see

[1] Incredible Scale

The beautiful thing about an online business is that it's not restricted by geographical location, so your audience can be the whole world, and not just the local High Street

Once you identify a successful marketing and advertising strategy (with the correct help and guidance, of course) you can expand your targeting, increase your budget, and scale up till you're hearts content.

Watch out though! A couple of tweets or a handful of Facebook posts won't be enough to generate a virtual ATM machine but we do know quite a bit about how you can leverage them to your advantage!

Many frustrated professionals have already had a taste of the flexibility of working online because of the pandemic - our children have really enjoyed not having to commute into the City for work and now that the children are back at school are definitely seeing their time more usefully employed

Yup, modern technology, laptops, smartphones, apps and VOIP communication systems are just some of the tools that allow you to operate your business from any location (if you're like us and followed the news then you probably wish you had shares in ZOOM the virtual communications platform we've all been using in our daily lives)

Next time you're in a Starbucks take a look around -- we guarantee someone will be working on their online business while connected to free wifi and inhaling their favourite coffee (yes people are beginning to inhabit coffee shops again albeit more cautiously)

Not being tied to a particular location or desk from nine-to-five is very empowering, don't you agree?

Imagine doing that with no boss breathing down your neck though?

That's when flexible working morphs into full blown freedom to do whatever makes your heart sing, when you want it to sing!

[3] Low Overheads and High Margins

As you DON'T need:

posh premises or offices,
employees (that's what 'outsourcers' are for),
nor tons of stock (if you chose to sell digital products)

... that instantly chops out the three most expensive items in your Accounts (we're still able to use our accountant's brains LOL).

And if you chose to sell digital information products (that'd be our recommendation), the profit margins can be unbelievably high.

[4] Automation Magic

As the world is your oyster, you can run your online business 24/7

So, there are no specific hours of operation because an online business can produce revenue around the clock, and keeps working when you're not!

With a well thought-out marketing plan, and the right automation tools in place, your online business can almost operate itself

You will have to write some emails, keep your accounts, and learn some marketing - but, in our humble opinion, they're easily learnable skills
