Let's talk today about being an online entrepreneur

We're very active on social media especially Facebook and if you are like us (even if it's only a short time on the platform) as you scroll through your newsfeed you're going to come across a lot of ads

"3 simple ways to _________"

"How I bought a lambo in 32 minutes"

"Why you such, I don't and how to fix it"

OKAY

We're being a little sarcastic

However, those people who are on your newsfeed, (or your inbox even)...

Or maybe even the people that you compare your business to?

Well...

The results aren't really realistic for the way you likely want to run your business

YES, they are possible BUT

Let's explain

If you look at the Stock Market, there are two types of people who use it

Day Traders and Long Term Investors

Day Traders

Buying and selling... spending time figuring it all out... understanding every element

Long-Term Investors

They know the companies they invest in... and they are investing for the long term

Thing is...

If a long term investor looks at a day trader...

What is going to happen?

They are gong to lose their marbles and thing they are behind, or even that there is something wrong with them.

With day trading, there is far more risk. However much more reward.

Now...

Here's the truth

Being able to be successful is possible

However entrepreneurship is typically a game played best as a long term investor

Yet

The majority of the people on your newsfeed, or the people that you're following...

They're playing the game like a day trader

Or suggesting to you that you play YOUR business like a day trader

Entrepreneurship and success is a process

It takes investment each and every day

It takes long-term investment of your time, your energy and thinking

It's not a single webinar or funnel...

It's not just ONE strategy...

Success isn't just one thing

And even if someone did just one thing, they made another 1,000 choices to ensure that one thing worked.

4 Reasons Why Your Online Business Is
The Best Investment Ever!

Because quite honestly, the pandemic has shifted attitudes about remote working, staying connected, and shopping online you will have to agree...

And home-based businesses are now a reality for millions of frustrated professionals and it's not going to change anytime soon that we can see

Everyone knows traditional brick and mortar businesses generally have lofty overheads, low profit margins, and take quite a long time to scale up - which is a big turn off, right?

We still have one in the hospitality industry and it's suffering badly right now and we have no idea what the future holds

However, online businesses are very appealing because they don't have any of those historic handicaps

It breaks our hearts to read of the struggles of traditional businesses - many just like our ski chalet business in France but just closer to home

We belong to a Facebook Group full of such businesses, and the stories they share of trying to cope in these topsy-turvey times heart wrenching and many have given up in desperation.

It makes us feel super grateful that we turned to the internet when we had that wake up call as a result of the 2008 global financial crisis...

And we see the writing on the wall once again!

Here are the four primary reasons why an online business is the best investment you'll ever make:

[1] Incredible Scale

The beautiful thing about an online business is that it's not restricted by geographical location, so your audience can be the whole world, and not just the local High Street

Once you identify a successful marketing and advertising strategy (with the correct help and guidance, of course) you can expand your targeting, increase your budget, and scale up till you're hearts content.

Watch out though! A couple of tweets or a handful of Facebook posts won't be enough to generate a virtual ATM machine but we do know quite a bit about how you can leverage them to your advantage!

[2] Limitless Freedom

Many frustrated professionals have already had a taste of the flexibility of working online because of the pandemic - our children have really enjoyed not having to commute into the City for work and now that the children are back at school are definitely seeing their time more usefully employed

Yup, modern technology, laptops, smartphones, apps and VOIP communication systems are just some of the tools that allow you to operate your business from any location (if you're like us and followed the news then you probably wish you had shares in ZOOM the virtual communications platform we've all been using in our daily lives)

Next time you're in a Starbucks take a look around -- we guarantee someone will be working on their online business while connected to free wifi and inhaling their favourite coffee (yes people are beginning to inhabit coffee shops again albeit more cautiously)

Not being tied to a particular location or desk from nine-to-five is very empowering, don't you agree?

Imagine doing that with no boss breathing down your neck though?

That's when flexible working morphs into full blown freedom to do whatever makes your heart sing, when you want it to sing!

[3] Low Overheads and High Margins

As you DON'T need:

posh premises or offices,
employees (that's what 'outsourcers' are for),
nor tons of stock (if you chose to sell digital products)

... that instantly chops out the three most expensive items in your Accounts (we're still able to use our accountant's brains LOL).

And if you chose to sell digital information products (that'd be our recommendation), the profit margins can be unbelievably high.

[4] Automation Magic

As the world is your oyster, you can run your online business 24/7

So, there are no specific hours of operation because an online business can produce revenue around the clock, and keeps working when you're not!

With a well thought-out marketing plan, and the right automation tools in place, your online business can almost operate itself

You will have to write some emails, keep your accounts, and learn some marketing - but, in our humble opinion, they're easily learnable skills

Those 4 reasons in favour of online business make a lot of sense, don't they?
