Hi Chris and Susan here...

Life has a way of kicking us when we’re down. And just when we think we can’t fall any lower, we get kicked again...

But it’s important to remember that setbacks, failures, and tragedies – however painful they may be – are a part of life

Whether we manage to find joy and success in the daily struggle of life is largely dependent on our ability to persevere through even the toughest adversity without ever giving up

We're talking about this today because we were reading an email from a good friend and fellow entrepreneur (we often hop on a coffee or cocktails call with her and her husband at the weekend since we can't travel or meet other than virtually right now and we always try and have a lot of fun even in tough times like now)

This is Jill's story...

"Just because I work successfully online and want to share the opportunity with others doesn’t mean my life has been smooth and unruffled….

I have been through stressful times like you may be in right now.

Relationship struggles. I was divorced after 31 years of marriage.

Work-related stresses. I retired with an early retirement offer with what I thought was the best package I’d get, looking forward to a new life in retirement.

After a few months I realized that my pension check was not going to give me a comfortable, stress-free retirement.

Needing more income. I started to look for other things to do to earn income. I didn’t want to commute anymore. I didn’t want to work for a boss.

Online work showed its face and I looked for things I’d be comfortable doing. Being an affiliate and promoting a company’s products seemed like the shortest path to financial growth for me"

Affiliate marketing is a business we've spent the past decade in and we've loved it but make no mistake we've had our ups and downs just like Jill has

After the recession of 2008 when we finally got our heads out of the sand (imagine two ostriches side by side) we knew we didn't want to continue with our management consultancy business tied to the UK for the rest of our lives

Luckily we met Stuart who went on to create the Six Figure Mentors and not only were two of his first students but we ended up doing a lot of training for his company... and frankly we've never looked back

That's us with Stuart at his sports club back in the day when he got us in front of a camera to talk about why we decided to quit our traditional business

He guided us out of the misfortune of our situation after the global recession of 2008 and we're forever grateful that a 27 year old younger than our kids was prepared to guide us!

Now ten years later we find Covid-19 creating havoc and we're certain it will lead to a recession even bigger than the one we went through

We're prepared as well as we can be since no one can be absolutely certain of life after the pandemic
