Most affiliates do little more than write a keyword-laced article and slap an affiliate link in it, hoping to make a buck or two. That’s small-time commission thinking!
What you want are big earnings – and you get those results from dominating as a leader in your niche.
Even without a product of your own, you can be the 'go to person' for your target audience when it comes to product recommendations
This is exactly what we do but you probably know that right!
Right now there are thousands (if not millions) of affiliates out there trying to compete for the attention of cash-in-hand consumers.
How will you set yourself apart and get the click-through?
You do this by creating genuine reviews
There’s a big difference between someone writing for the search engines and someone who values their reputation enough to make sure they carefully recommend only the best of the best.Â
If possible, purchase the product you’re promoting.
If it’s a tangible item and you can’t buy it, then maybe you can visit a store and test it out to see how it works. Then write a personalized review of it – pros and cons.
But what if it’s a digital product?
You can purchase those, too – and review it from the very first step where you land on the sales copy through to the end results
This is what we did when we purchased the Tony Robbins KBB Method Program last year
We purchased it and went through it from start to finish and looked at all the marketing materials as well
We were very impressed and it was very easy to promote it to our tribe and we added a huge bonus to it by creating a "study group" for our buyers over 6 weeks
We have always worked this way in our affiliate marketing business because it carries more integrity when you own and/or use the product yourself
NOTE : sometimes it's possble to get a free review copy from the seller especially once you have established a good reputation with them
That's where your blog (See Part 3) comes in as creating reviews on your blog you can point the seller to will prove to them that gifting you the product won't be wasted.
Last but not least BE HONEST in your reviews and for goodness sake don't headline them "is XYZ a scam"! It's so tacky and will do nothing for your reputation long term
Happy marketing and have a wonderful weekend.
Don't forget to watch the ENCORE - you will learn such a lot from it for your business
We'll talk about how they put the marketing together for their affiliates for the launch in our next email
