Hi Chris and Susan here...

Hope you had a fabulous weekend 

Saturday we went to see The Drifters and heard those songs we spent our teenage years listening to 

Amazing considering some of the current band members are in their 60's an 70's

There really is no reason we shouldn't be doing something we love and are passionate about in later life 

And on that topic 

The truth is that things are much different today that they were in our parents days when retirement really was about stopping work and taking up golf or gardening or any other hobby that took your fancy 

Today it's a very different scenario for so many different reasons 

 

• We don't have the same job security that our parents did
• Inflation has made it harder than ever to save and get ahead so everyone is looking for a side hustleand sacrificing even more of their time and freedom to do work they don't even like
• Even technology is vastly different than what we grew up with - how the heck are we supposed to use AI?  Is it going to replace us?  Are our careers on borrowed time?

And the craziest thing is everything above is happening at the same time 

So it's no wonder so many are scared

It would be crazy if we weren't 

And when we get scared like this, a lot of us will wish things could go back to how they were 

Keep our heads down and play it safe until things get back to normal 

It's what we did after the 2008 recession all but wiped out our retirement savings so we know first hand what it feels like

And we did for almost 2 years...

And it wasn't until the end of 2009 that it was clear that playing it safe was not going to help

It wasn't the way to create the life, business or income we truly wanted 

It wasn't how we were going to protect our future 

But what's the answer you're probably thinking?

One of the answers is to decide to finally do something about it
