Writing to you today from Portugal
We drove here from Spain on Sunday on our quest
to find somewhere to live
Today as you read this we're driving from the Algarve to what is called The Silver Coast which is northern Portugal
We're staying at a lovely hotel for a couple of nights while we explore and meeting friends who live there
In this email we want to share with you some advice that really changed the course of our life when we
started our online business
If you are a regular reader of our emails you know that when we started out we were in a desperate financial situation as we had very little in the way of savings for our retirement having lost a chunk of our money during the
property crash of 2008
Stuck with mortgages on properties for which we no longer had a source of income (rental income)
Luckily we got some good advice from our young mentor

We live by these two things to this day
#1 Seek to solve problems and serve needs
That is how every successful business has started
You must find a problem or a need that isn’t being served or not served in the way that you can, with your experience, skills and natural talents
Even if a need is being filled by competitors, what can you do that they can’t?
That is a gap that you can fill
People out there need what you can do, in your way, and only you can do it!
For us that's not helping everyone who needs to make money online
It's people like ourselves over 50 who are challenged by not having enough money for their retirement
#2 Have you added value to someone’s life today?
That one question makes life more meaningful.
It is a wonderful feeling and we also feel a deep sense of gratitude when we can help someone else
It can help you feel more fulfilled too
When you can take both of those things and do them on a daily basis,
success must follow
It really is a beautiful thing, and we hope that these two pieces of advice will serve you as well as they have for us
Take some time today to think about the things you do really well
What skills do you have that other people compliment you
for?
Do you have a process that simplifies your workday?
How about a natural talent that sets you
apart?
These are all things that can solve problems and serve needs…and you can turn them into monetizable assets that can pay you over and over again!
