Hi Chris and Susan here...
Here we are at the end of another week and ready to chill over the weekend
Our friends returned to Portugal after spending a week with us celebrating not just the Queen's Platinum Jubilee but also Mum's passing
Both are fabulous role models and we had much to celebrate
This week we were finally able to start refocusing on business and had a fabulous podcast interview with Andrew Logan the author of The Way Out - 7 Steps To Financial Freedom
We'll get that published over the weekend and you'll be able to hear for yourself what he has to say about what he calls The Big Lake
It's a fascinating way to understand the importance of multiple streams of income...
Something we should all have
The vast majority of people (and you may be one of them) have only one stream feeding the lake and many streams sucking it dry (life costs, home loads, car payments, debt, rent, food, insurance, credit card payments, holidays etc)
Human nature is to live in the now matching the water coming in with streams coming out.
You get a pay rise - find another way to spend it!
If you want more water in the lake there are really only two options
Find a bigger stream to feed the lake or reduce the number of creeks and streams coming out of the lake
Work hard or spend less
Simple maths
No one wants to work more their whole life
We didn't want to and our friends Greg and Fiona who visited us from Portugal didn't want to
Which is why they and we fixed things by introducing a second stream to the top of the lake
To begin the first stream can be your job and your second stream can be an online business
Now you have two streams feeding the lake instead of one
Two is always better than one
The more streams of income coming in, the bigger the safety net if there's a drought upstream.
If you were to lose your job, you have a secondary income stream that can continue to feed the lake in the meantime.
This is the key to financial security
At present, more people are Googling “How to build a business” than ever before
This is our advice:
Find the solution to a problem - and build your business around that but make sure that you do something that combines some or all of the things in this diagram below
